What customers say?

“ A great family run business. The fish is beautiful. Mine was cooked fresh to order. And had a potato scallop with it. The guys serving were very polite and courteous. And as for price. The most reasonable I've had since moving back to Yorkshire. Would I go there again. Absolutely, in fact I think I'd go out of my way to get my fish and chips in future .. ”

- Paul Hawkyard -

“ We went here after finding all the local fish and chips shops closed. It came highly recommended. It was near closing time but the owners were happy to serve us and were very friendly. The food was of good quality and freshly cooked. ”

- Jan Gibbs -

“ Used this place on and off for 10 plus years. Lovely family. Food is normally spot on. However there's a couple of grumbles. Firstly they only take cash. In this day and age they need to offer option of card payments etc. Many times I've had to drive past as I didn't have any cash. Secondly food is cooked to order, whilst I can see they think this is fresher and hotter, it results in large queues when there's not really any need for one. Again I've taken one look and just carried on past. Surely it's not difficult to know that on a Friday at 5pm you will be ranmed and to pre cook at least 10 fish to get you in front? ”

- Gavin Shoesmith -

“ Delicious fish and chips. Huge portions! The staff are brilliant - Very sociable and welcoming ”

- Mike J -

“ Called just before closing after a long day at the hospital. The gentleman serving couldn’t have been more accommodating, very kind. Food tasted great, one of the best chippy’s around. ”

- Helen Berriff -

“ Wow, been looking for a decent chippy since my local got taken over by a chain & I think I’ve found it. I got the large fish & chips & I swear there was enough for 2 people with left overs. The batter was lovely & fluffy & nicely seasoned with salt so no need to add any, chips were good chip shop chips. Will definitely be using again. ”

- Zara Butler -

“ Really first class service , value for money, chips , peas , fish cake , pies cooked to perfection. In fact never had better chips , fish cake or peas , second time in two days that’s how good the food was . ”

- Darren Pickering -

“ Food was a bit greasy but what fish and chips isn't staff were amazing thoguh ”
